For some patients, usually due to long periods of absence of teeth in the upper jaw, maxillary sinus, which is normal bone structure, approaches the edge of the alveolar ridge, thus making the bone ridge smaller and in that case no implants can be inserted, without surgical intervention of the sinus. To get the proper height in this area, which would allow placement of implants and prosthetic construction, we performe surgery called sinuslift. It is raising the bottom of the sinus cavity and its membrane and placing appropriate graft or artificial bone, with or without collagen membrane, which would allow creation of new bone. After insertion of artificial bone, we have to wait a certain period, usually 6 months to let the body make the new bone that we need.
